Last year's presidential hopeful Mitt Romney announced Wednesday that he planned to sue Intuit, the financial tech firm under whose umbrella TurboTax falls, for "making a guarantee that they could not keep".
TurboTax's 'Maximum Refund Guaranteed' slogan is under attack as Romney brings the full legal force of his Bain Capital to bear on the lawsuit.
"Maximum refund?" Romney said, as he spit on the sidewalk outside Intuit's corporate headquarters in Mountain View, CA. "I didn't get a refund at all!"
When asked why he thought that he could win the lawsuit, Romney outlined a five-step plan that included absolutely no details.
Intuit's C.E.O., Brad D. Smith, called the lawsuit "frivolous" in a Thursday press conference and added, "I hope for his sake he's better at winning lawsuits than he is elections."
